" The Middlechild"......

Photo above from exhibit in Schloss Farrach, Austria June 2015

I consider my work to be 3 dimensional allegories with clues to a hidden meaning... This piece  is wearing an old German "Trachten" outfit, it was inspired by the theory of multiple universes and of course the middle child herself......

Paper  clay, 24" Mohair, glass eyes, silk, cotton, metal

"The Queen of NowHere"

A reflection on Life's quest to reconcile the presence of opposites: large and small,  good and evil, tall and short, visible and invisible.... as in body and spirit..... how one would not exist without the other ..... how it all "ties" together.....i.e. the monkey on our back....

"Three Wishes"

 "Three Wishes"

The bees symbolize wishes:
hypnotizing, imagined as sweet as honey -  but there is of course the stinger....

Searching for the Light

One of my favorites.......   the figure has an open space in the heart area that contains a lit candle.... a reminder that the Light is already inside of you and with you always......
Nevertheless we seem to be searching everywhere else....

"Ida's Journey"

This piece was made in memory of my grandmother Ida Kiesch.
I had been thinking of her and the life she lived in the context of the historical background  and compared it to my path in life. It inspired me to make this piece to describe a little of her life's journey and to send her "Home" where she always wanted to return to.

"Ida's Journey"  won the "Best of Show" at the annual Brazosport Art Leagues  Juried Fine Arts Show.
